Fed: Fed govt orders ACCC to monitor unleaded petrol prices
SYDNEY, Dec 18 AAP - Assistant Treasurer Chris Bowen has ordered the competition watchdog
to monitor prices, costs and profits in the unleaded petroleum industry, for three years.
"The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (is) to monitor prices, costs and
profits relating to the supply of unleaded petroleum products in the petroleum industry,"
Mr Bowen said in a directive to the ACCC.
"The commission (is) to report to me on its monitoring activities ... for a period
of three years, commencing from the date of this direction."
