Vic: Two killed in early morning crash, truckie rescues third
MELBOURNE, Feb 15 AAP - A truck driver dragged a crash victim from the blazing wreckage
of van in which two people died after a crash in Victoria early today.
After a collision between a sedan and a Toyota van, the van rolled and hit a pole on
the side of the road and burst into flames, incinerating two people inside.
A truck driver stopped at the crash site south-west of Melbourne and pulled a third
person through the windscreen of the burning van.
Police said they believed the van, heading towards Melbourne on the Princes Highway
near Little River, was hit from behind by a sedan.
The two people who died in the burning van have yet to be identified.
The rescued crash victim was taken to hospital.
The deaths bring Victoria's road toll to 44, two more than for the same period last year.
